Charleston Author Teaches Everyone How to Live Their Lives on Purpose

Katie Ashley, (local to the Charleston, SC area, yoga teacher, mentor, speaker, and a motivator of self-love among many other amazing things), has been through some trying times in her life. Between heartache, doubt, and admitting herself into a residential eating disorder clinic, doctors stated that she would be unlikely to recover from anorexia. After years of self-research, exploration, healing, and discovery, a star was born: Living Life on Purpose. In Ashley’s book, Living Life on Purpose, readers follow her along this journey of obstacles, learning wisdom along the way. Anyone can find spiritual purpose in their lives and this book shows his or her how in the best of ways.

Part memoir, part life-altering wisdom, part interactive workbook, Ashley’s manuscript literately takes the reader from being indirectly involved to being directly involved with his or her own self-exploration. This entire book isn’t just piece of writing held together by front and back covers. It’s truly a workbook for the reader’s life and how to live it. Each chapter ends with exercises for the reader to complete. The questions in the exercises correspond with the chapter that was just read, which helps the reader internalize the text. Without giving away all of the wisdom Living Life on Purpose has to offer, all that can be said is the exercises are life-changing and are sure to make readers think differently about their lives.

This book isn’t all about yoga teachings, Buddhist methodologies, or meditation, (even though there is a lot of that in the book). There is solid advice within the text that applies to pretty much every individual on the planet. Looking for relationship advice, (romantic or platonic)? Ashley gives you some! Looking for the extra push on how to manifest dreams and make them into a reality to start living purposefully, (using “practical magic”)? She gives it! Wondering why there always seem to be obstacles in life? She explains why they need to be there. This book isn’t just for yogis, Buddhists, or hippies. This is a book for everyone from every walk of life, and everyone should read it!

Emotionally, readers walk through Ashley’s personal experiences, and through doing so, readers see her reach a higher wisdom about herself and life in general. Using her own personal experiences as examples and the wisdom she found within each of them, readers are about to find their own paths. As Ashley says, when one begins walking in his or her own path, that is when a person starts living his or her life on purpose. This book teaches all who read it how to do just that.
