The Simple Six Peanut Butter Pie Recipe: It’s a Total Win!

I don’t know how many times I’ve been asked to bring a dessert or side dish to a potluck, (or even both), especially around the holidays. Spring, summer, fall, winter… every season has its holidays. I would like to say that I’m a “good cook” because I absolutely adore cooking, but it’s more like I’m a beginner cook, still learning the ropes. Last week, I got invited to a friend’s house for her Fourth of July bash and asked to bring a dessert and a side, preferably a vegetable side. I’ve been in love with my crockpot lately, since my lifestyle is pretty busy most of the time and my oven broke, so I figured this was the best opportunity to show off my “crockpot” skills with the side. When it came to the dessert, I was a little taken back. I didn’t want to run to the store and buy something, (acting like I half-assed it). I actually wanted to impress my friends and her friends at the party. So I did what most people do when they want a recipe idea… I called my mom.

Now, I am really blessed to have a mom that will be glad to give me a recipe, and then act like, “Duh! Why didn’t you think of this before? I have sent you this recipe a million times!” I know she secretly is wishing that I don’t call asking her to email me it again. This peanut butter pie is simply the best. My mom makes it for about every holiday and people swoon for it. In my personal opinion, it is so rich with its creamy, peanut butter goodness, it’s so good it ranks right up there with sex.

The recipe is crazy simple too. All it takes is six ingredients and three steps.


2/3 cup of crunchy peanut butter

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened (try Tofutti cream cheese!)

1/2 cup milk (use almond, cashew or coconut milk in place of cows milk)

1 cup of powdered sugar

1 (8 ounce) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed (coconut cream whipped topping from The Minimalist Baker works wonders!)

1 (6 or 9 ounce) ready graham cracker piecrust

You can also make this pie vegan if you wanted, (trust me, it’s better that way especially for the animals)! Just swap out the dairy ingredients with your favorite non-dairy alternatives.

Step 1: Mix up the ingredients! Put the peanut butter, cream cheese, milk, and powdered sugar into a bowl and blend it all together using a hand mixer, (or blender but make sure not to liquefy your ingredients). Blend until the texture is creamy, but there are still some chunks of the peanuts in there. After blended, fold in the whipped topping.

Step 2: Pour the ingredients into your pie crusts!

Step 3: Freeze, (put the pies in your freezer), for a few hours or overnight.

No bake, no hassle, decadent peanut butter pie. To eat, just run warm water over a knife, cut your piece, and experience the rich ecstasy that it has to offer you!
