Gardening is always fun with little ones around. From seeing a worm wiggle across the sidewalk to watching the birds build a nest, children always seem to see the wonder of our natural world. For even more magic at home, (even if you have primarily a black thumb instead of green), it is super easy to grow vegetables right at home from food scraps, (most just in water, but some require soil in order to get to the finished product)! Watch these vegetables re-grow from your kitchen scraps and experience the magic of nature with your children this summer!
- Sweet potatoes, (or any potato scrap with an eye)
- Lettuce, (i.e. romaine lettuce, bok choy)
- Herbs (i.e. cilantro, lemongrass, basil)
- Spring onions
- Bean sprouts
Now, go and get your hands dirty!
